50 Cent tops Forbes’ annual list of the world’s highest-paid rappers beating out the likes of Jay-Z, Sean Combs, and Kanye West. Considering this is his earnings for one years work, boy how dreams can hit new levels when you get in the right place and find your groove in life. I noticed how many of the smarter rappers quickly take to the entrepreneur scene once experiencing some success, catapulting them further then music alone ever could. With the theme “artist turned marketing mogul”, how would 50’s life had turned out had he pursued a career as a businessman from the beginning? Same goes for Jay-Z, and Sean Combs “P-Diddy”, would they have been so successful without the music as a launchpad? In my opion yes and no. Yes if the confidence they have built in themselves over the years were present in the begining. Self confidence, swagger and belief can lead you to do things you could not have dreamed. Not sure if anyone has asked 50, but I wonder when he was just a New York rapper doing mixed tapes could he foresee the power business moves and marketing genious he would bring into the world to amass such a fortune? 50 raked in over $100 million after taxes on a single deal earlier this year, Forbes notes, when his stake in GlacĂ©au (parent co. of VitaminWater) was bought by Coca-Cola as part of a $4.1 billion takeover.
