Why not a career in professional gaming?

By emdoozie. Posted in career |

I ran into a good friend of mine as I was leaving the gym today, he was just sitting in his car. I asked him why and he explained to me that he was listening to a story on the radio about a kid who dropped out of high school to pursue a career in professional gaming. Of course this person had become a successful gamer and makes a substantial income competing in tournaments. My friend was amazed and shocked that people actually make a living playing video games and pondered if he could get into such a career. This all goes back to taking your passion and turning it into your livelihood. It all depends on how bad he wants that change and what he’s willing to do to make it happen.

Everyone has come across one story or another about people who quit there jobs to do this, or dropped out of school to do that (not that I recommend either). When you believe in yourself there is nothing you can’t do. Yes, it requires risk and sacrifices, but when you hear those inspirational stories about people doing extraordinary things you would also love to do, figure out how you can do it too and go after it!
