The Impossible City, Dubai = doozieUp!

Over the weekend I watched a documentary on Discovery Channel about “The Impossible City” which is Dubai. I have seen many of the other documentaries covering the progress of Dubai’s mind boggling construction projects which are setting a new bar for the imagination and limits of one’s dreams. I labeled this post “Dubai = dooziUp!” because everything that’s going on there is an exact representation of what doozieUp is stands for.

“doozie up – Something that is extraordinary or outstanding of its kind. To make more attractive or appealing”

The leaders of Dubai sought to eliminate its country’s dependency on the oil and natural gas industry by developing their country into the ultimate tourist destination and business hub for the world. They have succeeded and are still in the process of building some of the most amazing buildings the world has ever seen. Some of these innovations include an indoor ski resort in the middle of the dessert, the worlds tallest building, the worlds first man made island cities, and many more. Actually, Dubai would need a series of posts solely dedicated to the innovative projects that are taking place there. What I am concerned about in this post is relating Dubai’s transformation to the transformation we need to make in our own lives.

The leaders in Dubai have taken the gloves off when it comes to imagination, ambition, and what’s possible. They are allowing some of the greatest architects, designers, and engineers in the world to erect their dreams without limits. Every project going on is either a world’s first, world’s greatest, or world’s most, but the craziest aspect of everything is the impossible factor. Most of these projects where labeled impossible and not likely to succeed. How does that sound familiar? Dubai is getting “doozied up” in order to change it’s destiny.

So what about you?

Are you attempting to doozie up your own life? What does it look like? If money wasn’t an object where would you be living, what would you spend your time doing, where would you travel, what would you eat and drink, what type of clothes would you where, what type of car would you drive, etc. It’s time we all took the gloves off when it comes to our lives and how we live them. We must let our minds go free to dream, wonder, and fantasize about that things we want to experience and how we want to live. Lets not let the label of impossible stop us from going after our dreams. We have to clear the cob webs in our brain and start dreaming like we used to when we were kids before adults starting lying to us about all the things that where impossible or not likely to happen.

Let’s strive to embody the attitude in Dubai where there are no limits and nothing is impossible. Be in action, don’t just dream, make them happen! DOOZIE UP YOUR LIFE!!

“The impossible – what nobody can do until somebody does”
