Mercedes’ AMG Division now has a “Black Series”, apparently to offer it’s loyal customers another level of excitement (from Car Magazine) since many of them choose to go to other manufactures for greater thrills. I would imagine some of the candidates would be Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Porsche to name a few. In this post I have included some pics of the new SL65 AMG Black Series. Checking out their site these new über models have a mean aggressive look that could add to my swagger… I usually don’t get into the nitty gritty details about power curves and specifications, but I’m sure this is inspiring someone to dream about owning and driving one. I can just image what it sounds like when you turn this beast on!
“We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter’s evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.” - Woodrow T. Wilson
A friend sent me a link to a Wired Blog called Autopia which has a post today about Italian Police driving Lamborghini’s. Does this mean they get paid more for being highway patrolmen over there? So, I wonder if Ferrari and Maserati are in different jurisdictions? At any rate, this is my last post, I’m moving to Italy to join the force! lol
Just kidding, enjoy the pics and the video though…
While watching my favorite show on BBC “TopGear”, I caught the first glimpse of the Wiesmann MF3 Roadster. It struck me quite a bit odd at first, but the longer I gazed at it with this puzzled look on my face the more I began to utter, “this is a fricken sweet car”. Of course this lead to me googling the company because I had never heard of them before. Once I found the official site I saw the model that I must have in my future garage. The Wiesmann GT MF5 (above).
BUT there is a big problem, from what I can tell these are not available in the US! Crap! If anyone knows differently please reply in the comments. This is what kills dreams! lol
By the way, same engine as BMW M5 & M6. Anyway, here are a couple pics and videos for you to enjoy:
This blog is very much so about dreaming and getting the things you truly want in life, and I’m sure many have and still are fantasizing about the Bently Arnage. Well unless your going to buy a used model later in life, you better kick your determination into overdrive if your going to get your hands on a new one. Bently recently anounced the end of the Arnage model, according to Cars online. A special edition run of 150 cars are due for 2009, and it’s curtains after that. So for the carrot chasers out there who need far reaching goals to motivate themselves, find a new “dream sedan” or act fast!
I can’t wait for this to come out. I love James Bond as you can tell as I have referenced him multiple times throughout my posts. I’m sure he will be whipping that Aston Martin DBS and sporting my favorite Omega Timepiece:
Car Magazine Online posted their first test drive of the new Corvette ZR1. I can definitely see people adding this as a dream car. Though is the most expensive vette yet, it’s more in reach then many other dream rides with less power.
“The new Corvette ZR1 is the world’s quickest and rawest sports car – only mad supercars and insane track cars can best it. This is a bright yellow bullet, with 638bhp (making it the most powerful ‘Vette of all time), carbonfibre bodywork and Brembo’s biggest ceramic brakes. Just 1800 ZR1s will be built each year at GM’s plant in Kentucky, with production ending in 2012.” - CarOnlineMagazine
Aston Martin and Jaeger Lecoultre are due to release a new timepiece in early October at the Paris Motor Show. This swiss made watch will not only serve as esquisite wristwear, but also as the gate keeper to the Aston Martin DBS. This watch known as The AMVOX2 DBS Transponder allows key less entry to the DBS though an actual key is needed to drive off. The release of this watch leads me to wonder if there will be one to acompany Aston Martin’s Million Dollar One-77. To continue with the James Bond tradition I would like to see Omega fill this void. Yes, that will be $37,600.00 to not have to reach in your pocket to open the door…
Nothing much to say here, but I know where I need to vacation and what wheels I need to have on tap for the ride. This photo exemplifies the “Good Life”, to me that is. When traveling to Italy why not tour the country side with what many refer to as the “Ultimate Super Car”, Ferrari. Apparently Red-Travel can hook you up with a luxury vacation that includes this Italian Exotic as apart of the vacation package. What’s your “Good Life” comprise of? Go Get It!
I was reading an article in the New York Times in tittled “Putting The Dream Car Out to Pasture”. The article coveys a practical message that even I am battling with on a daily basis. I currently drive a Nissan Titan which I love, but haven’t filled it up since Gas went over $3.00 a gallon probably. If I could sell it and buy a more practical car I would. The only problem I have with this article is the title. “The Dream Car” is the ultimate symbol of your goals and what you have been striving for to consider yourself successful. It’s going to take more than gas prices for me to give up my “Dream Car” aspirations.
“Americans’ longtime romance with the automobile is being severely tested, and in some cases dashed entirely, now that every trip gives rise to worries about how much a fill-up costs, guilt over how much damage the exhaust is contributing to the destruction of the planet, and self-consciousness about the image a full-size behemoth conveys today about its driver…”
There is a difference between practicality and living out your desires. If you can’t afford a vehicle, yes, it is wise to sell it in order to manage your finances better and purchase a more cost effective means of transportation. BUT when we are speaking about our dreams nothing should stray us away from that goal. If your a regular reader you know full well how I feel about the Lamborghini LP640, which may get 8 miles to the gallon on a good day LOL. Yet the person who can afford a Lambo is not concerned about the gas mileage, it’s more about the performance, beauty, and passion for the car. Filling the tank is more like paying admission to your favorite theme park, only your favorite ride is always on tap, and you never have to wait in line.
Giving up goals because of obstacles is out of the question in my book. Knowing that you have given up gives you the room to take is easy. I have faith that Lamborghini and other exotic manufacturers are striving to produce more environment friendly Super Cars, but until then maybe the environmentally focused dreamers can set their sites on the hydrogen propelled Scorpion
I may offend the environmentalist every now and then with my rants about the hottest exotic cars on the market. Most of which may get 8 miles to the gallon on a good day. Well I have found the car to please both worlds. Ron Motor Companies‘ Scorpion. A high performance exotic sporting twin turbo, 400+ horsepower Hydrogen performance.
The Scorpion looks really sweet with that “one-off” never before seen look to it. You can pull up in this and turn heads while simultaneously helping the environment by reducing your carbon footprint. I love the looks of this cars, and it comes in some color schemes that reminds me of those “Hot Wheels” toy cars I used to get as a kid that changed colors in hot and cold water. LOL
I guess the more our fuel crisis grows car enthusiasts are gong to have to start making some hard choices when it comes to giving up there tarmac scorching super cars for the less powerful hybrids. I am happy to see auto manufacturers trying hard to bridge the gap between Super Car & Environment friendly vehicles. Until the time when Exotics & Eco friendly cars are created equal, I still must have my beloved Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 & the 911 Turbo Cabriolet!
Hydrogen Fuel Injection (HFI)produces hydrogen during vehicle operation through electrolysis of water using the power generated from the vehicles electrical system. A small amount of hydrogen added to the vehicles intake air/fuel mixture allows the engine to operate with less fossil fuel. Ronn Motor Company will use this technology in its revolutionary Scorpion to achieve lower emissions and vastly improved fuel economy.
There are two main kinds of Hydrogen Hybrid automobile. These are fuel cell vehicles and Hydrogen internal combustion engines, (HICE) like our first automobile “The Scorpion”. Fuel cell vehicles are electric cars. Hydrogen is pumped into a tank in the car, just as gasoline. The hydrogen gas is then fed into the fuel cell where it is electrochemically converted into electricity–with no combustion, no moving parts and no emissions other than water vapor. The electricity is used to power the vehicle.
Hydrogen ICE vehicles use a regular combustion engine modified to use gaseous hydrogen instead of liquid gasoline (much like a natural gas vehicle is modified). They burn hydrogen or a combination of gasoline and hydrogen, but since there is no carbon in hydrogen, there are no or almost no CO2 emissions and only trace amounts of NOx (oxides of nitrogen). Hydrogen ICE vehicles are typically about 30-50% more efficient than comparable gasoline vehicles.
What’s that one thing, that one item that you have always wanted to achieve, and just assumed you could never have it? For me its the Lamborghini. I have been fantasizing about this car since I was in the third grade. I was exposed to it when my teacher requested the class to get a book from the library. I wanted something fairly thin that looked cool (ironically I didn’t like reading much). I reached in and pulled out a small book about exotic cars. Once flipping through the pages that was it, a new world opened to me instantly! I wanted the contents of that book right then, even though the driving period was far in my future, I was like 9.
So undoubtedly you will understand through future posts, that I love exotic automobiles. I am determined that this blog cover a vast array of areas so that most of my readers dreams are sparked in some way, but for this post it’s all about speed, luxury, and exlusivity on four wheels. When you happen to get a glimpse of these emphamous autos on the highway, what’s the first thing that comes into your mind? For me, what does the driver do for a living, and how does it feel to drive that car?
When I see these awesome displays of engineering, art, and power, I tell myself one thing. We shall meet one day my friend, one day! Some people see these cars and act as if they have just had a chance visit from a “Rock Star” who they will likely never see again.
Did you know that many of these Super Cars you see on the road are experienced like time shares!
