Last week I went on a brief vacation to Washington D.C. with my wife Karen to get away from it all and for her to take part in her sororities’ 100th Anniversary. When I say vacations are a must, geeze man! Being the ambitious person that I am I have gotten involved in many things to propel myself forward. So much to the point where at times I feel over whelmed by all the different things I have to think about and process. Currently there are remnants of ventures gone south that I am currently slowly removing from my life so that I can focus on the successful activities and things that I enjoy.

Okay I went on a tangent there…, back to vacation. Coming from Florida just the layout of the city and the architecture was enough to put me in another world. When first arriving in the city we decided to take the Metro (subway) to our hotel. When exiting the subway we thought we got it wrong and ended up taking a cab the rest of the way when our hotel was only a couple blocks away (not funny). No matter we were on vacation, “all is well”. You ever notice when your on vacation all your worries at home seem to go away. Why can’t we live our lives like that on a daily basis? We constantly worry and stress about things we have no control over, only to realize it eventually works out for the best in the end anyway. This is why I decided a while ago to stop stressing about things that I have no control over because it’s a waste of brain power, time, and good health.
At any rate D.C. was a great experience viewing the monuments and exploring my nations capitol where so 
many decisions are made that affect many lives in the U.S. (See US economy). Karen’s sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha commemorated their 100th anniversary by staging a walk down Pennsylvania Ave to the Capitol, the only group to ever close this street besides The Pope. It was amazing walking down a major street in a capitol city with 25,000+ other people (most of which where women wearing pink and green).
We also took a walk through other parts of the city sight seeing, and we stumbled on Embassy Row where most of the foreign embassies are located. In the way that my mind works these days, seeing them brought to mind how so many foreign residents have come to America to stake there claim and are succeeding. Yet many of us who are born in America are jaded to the potential that is present in the U.S. I want to embody that attitude of reaching a new land and attaining all my dreams. As I do in most places I love to experience new restaurants and dinning, and I must say their 
where two restaurants that make we want to make special trips back to D.C. just for food. First is Five Guys Burgers & Fries, (just found out there is a location near me, yes!) one of the best burgers I have ever had, and rivals Fat Burger. Second is ThaiPhoon an authentic Thai Food restaurant that featured “Curry Puffs” (minced curry chicken and potatoes in a fried wanton type deal), one of the best Thai Restaurants I have experienced thus far.
Needless to say I had a great time and have went on many tangents in this post, but the main point I wish to make is a good vacation is really refreshing, and leaves you rejuvenated and motivated when returning home. How do you feel when your about to return from a vacation? Dread or Excitment, the answer to that question will tell you if your living your dreams or just treading water in life. The city of Dubai never fails to open the largest, the most expensive, and the most everything else you can think of. To add to their limitless pursuit of providing everything people dream about they have reached out to the Shopping Enthusiasts of the World. Dubai Mall claims to have the largest number of retailers in the world. So plan to include with that dream vacation a mega shopping spree marathon. According to Luxist the mall is hosting a series of high profile events including fashion shows and performances to celebrate the opening. It is seen as a destination and has an adjoining 5-star hotel.
